There are plans to increase the number of homes built for families with many children up to 10,000 apartments per annum, BelTA learned from Belarusian Architecture and Construction Minister Anatoly Cherny on 7 August.
As many as 7,029 apartments are supposed to be built for large families this year. According to preliminary data, the number will be exceeded by 50 apartments. “It is maximum for the last few years. Housing construction for this kind of citizens will no longer be decreased. Plans have been made to build at least 7,000 apartments every year although we are now looking for funding in order to build 10,000 apartments for large families per annum in line with presidential decree No.240. The effort is expected to have a positive effect on the country’s demographic situation,” said Anatoly Cherny.
Some 240,000m2 of housing was commissioned for large families in January-June 2018, 170% up from the same period of last year. A total of 413,000m2 of housing was built for people on the housing register.
