Turnout at Belarus’ local elections at 77.27%

MINSK, 24 March (BelTA) – The turnout at the elections to local councils of deputies of Belarus was at 77.27% by 20:00. By that time some 5,385,922 people voted, BelTA learnt from the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus.

The turnout in Brest Oblast was 80%, in Vitebsk Oblast - 82.29%, Gomel Oblast – 80.83%, Grodno Oblast – 79.96%, Minsk Oblast – 80.74%, Mogilev Oblast – 80.95% and in the city of Minsk – 61.61%.

All 6,169 polling stations closed down at 20:00. District commissions started counting the votes. Preliminary results will be summed up in the night from Sunday to Monday, 24 March.
