Snopkov: Number of large families in Belarus up by 10% over past three years
The number of large families in Belarus has increased by 10% over the past three years, Belarusian First Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Snopkov said during a joint sitting of the House of Representatives and the Council of the Republic in Minsk on 22 October, BelTA has learned.
"We have expanded the family capital program. Over the past three years, the number of large families has increased by 10% and exceeds 123,000. Since the family capital program was launched, more than 140,000 deposit accounts have been opened for large families," Nikolai Snopkov said.
"More than 85,000 applicants have been permitted to use family capital ahead of schedule. On 1 January 2024 the amount of family capital was raised to Br31,480,” Nikolai Snopkov added. "Every year, large families receive lump-sum back-to-school financial assistance.”
