Belarus will bid to host two world rowing championships, Prokopovich says

MINSK, 17 August (BelTA) - Belarus will bid to host two world rowing championships, Chairman of the Board of the National Bank of Belarus, chief of the Belarusian Rowing Union Piotr Prokopovich said as he reported to President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, BelTA learnt from the presidential press service. Belarus will apply to host the world kayak and canoe championship in 2013 and the world rowing championship in 2015. The venues of the events will be Brest and Zaslavl. By hosting such high-profile events Belarus will gain invaluable experience. The country has already hosted the European rowing championship and U23 world championship. The country has all opportunities to stage the senior world championships, Piotr Prokopovich said.
