Customs Union’s car import duties unchanged for Belarusians as from 1 July

MINSK, 26 May (BelTA) – Duties on automobiles imported by individuals to Belarus will not be changed as from 1 July, Chairman of the State Customs Committee of Belarus (SCC) Alexander Shpilevsky told media in the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus on 26 May. “Belarus and Kazakhstan have similar views but Russia is intent on enforcing customs duties for juridical persons. I think the problem will not be resolved as from 1 July,” said Alexander Shpilevsky. The unchanged customs duties will be formalized as an exception from rules of the single customs territory. “Unless we make other arrangements,” said the head of Belarus’ Customs. In addition, customs duties on oil and oil products will be still be waived because Russia has not changed its opinion, said Alexander Shpilevsky.
