Invitation of foreign priests to Belarus will be regulated, Leonid Gulyako says
The Council of Ministers of Belarus has prepared a draft resolution to approve the regulations on the invitation of foreign nationals and stateless persons to the Republic of Belarus for the purpose of engaging in religious activities, Commissioner for Religious and Ethnic Affairs Leonid Gulyako said during a session of the Office of the Commissioner. According to him, the document has been developed to maintain stable ethnic and confessional situation in the country. “It does not mean that we are not planning to invite foreign clergymen. However, their invitation should be carried out in strict conformity with the legislation, and their activity should be in line with the purposes for which they are invited,” explained Leonid Gulyako.
