Lukashenko urges to honor Belarus' heroic past

The loss of the image of the heroic past leads to a catastrophe and deprives people of the future, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at the ceremony to present the Spiritual Revival Awards, special prizes to art luminaries, and the Belarusian Sports Olympus Awards in Minsk on 11 January, BelTA has learned.

In his speech the head of state emphasized the importance to honor the memory of the nation, the historical truth, and to prevent the attempts to falsify the momentous events in the life of the country.

“First of all, I am referring to the Great Victory, of course. The loss of the image of the heroic past leads the state to a catastrophe and deprives people of the future. That is why the year 2022 was announced the Year of Historical Memory,” the president explained.
