Some European partners have distorted picture of real political and social situation in Belarus

MINSK, 4 January (BelTA) – The Foreign Ministry of Belarus notes that some European partners have a distorted picture of the real political and social situation in the country, spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Andrei Savinykh said when answering the questions from reporters regarding the statements of some politicians in support of sanctions or other restrictive measures in respect of Belarus. “We acknowledge that some of our European partners have a distorted picture of the real political and social situation in Belarus. This makes them take decisions that will harm the normal interaction and those values, the commitment to which they declare. This is a counterproductive position, which has already proved futile in the past decade,” he said. “For our part, we affirm the need for sober assessment of the situation and for continuation of the constructive dialogue at all levels. Only such an approach meets the interests of a united Europe, and promotes European values,” Andrei Savinykh said.
