USA extends normal trade relations for Belarus

MINSK, 21 June (BelTA) – The USA has extended normal trade relations with Belarus for another 12 months by waiving the Jackson-Vanik amendment to the 1974 Trade Act in line with the relevant resolution by US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The resolution was filed by the USA Federal Register on 17 June 2010, representatives of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry told BelTA. The decision of the USA administration will enable Belarusian exporters to use preferential terms in trade with the USA. The normal trade terms enable an exporter country to pay lower customs duties, thus raising the competitive ability of its products on the US market.
