Unfortunately, New Year only comes once a year! But there's no need to worry that this holiday knocks on our door so rarely. What is sad is that, according to statistics, it is during the festive period that the largest number of emergencies occurs. This is because, while relaxing and indulging in merriment, many simply forget about safety rules, which can instantly overshadow a whole year of waiting for the chimes.
However, there is a solution to every problem, so to help every resident celebrate the New Year holidays without emergencies, the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) propaganda department is holding the annual republican campaign "Safe New Year!". This year, it will take place from December 12 to 30 in three stages.
During the 1st stage, from December 12 to 16, the target audience for the events will be elderly people at the bases of territorial centres for social services, veteran and disabled homes, as well as sanatoriums where this category of the population is resting. MES propagandists will conduct an interactive discussion on life safety fundamentals with them, using the "Steps to Salvation" game, and will invite them to participate in themed competitions and quizzes, non-losing lotteries, and much more.
From December 19 to 23, during the 2nd stage of the campaign, propaganda workers will bring festive cheer to schools, boarding schools, families with children in socially dangerous situations, orphanages, and family-type homes. Father Frost and Snow Maiden will visit the children, and together with MES employees, they will explain safety rules during the winter holidays: how to behave on the ice, how to use pyrotechnics, party poppers, and sparklers. In addition, children can expect quizzes, impromptu theatre, themed competitions, screenings of films and videos, as well as visual aids and memorable gifts.
In the final stage of the campaign, which will take place from December 26 to 30, a fire-fighting Father Frost, Snow Maiden, and fairytale characters will visit places where pyrotechnics are sold.
characters who will hold conversations with visitors, distribute instructions for the safe use of pyrotechnics, commemorative calendars of the campaign, and visual aids.Ded Moroz and Snegurochka will not overlook ice rinks and other mass skating venues. There, EMERCOM sites will be set up, where contests, quizzes, and prize lotteries will be held. Fairy-tale characters will also visit places that are very sad to be in on the eve of the holiday – children's healthcare facilities. There, they will arrange a real celebration so that no child loses faith in miracles.
The main events of the campaign will unfold in places of mass gathering of people – these are open spaces, large shopping centers, markets, children's entertainment centers, etc. Rescuers will congratulate everyone on the upcoming holidays, remind them of safety rules, conduct thematic quizzes, contests, and lotteries, distribute visual aids, and award prizes.
Those who cannot directly participate in the campaign events will receive a thematic greeting from the rescuer Ded Moroz via telephone or video communication. A mailing of preventive correspondence and greetings by post will also be organized.
