Industry plays a key role in ensuring the economic development of the region. The products of this sector ensure the sustainable functioning of other sectors of the national economy of the district, satisfy the population's need for essential goods, and determine the export potential of the district.

The leading industrial enterprises of the district are the Lepel Dairy Processing Plant branch of Vitebsk Meat Processing Plant OJSC and the Lepel branch of Vitebskagropromproduct CJSC. The Lepel Dairy Processing Plant branch of Vitebsk Meat Processing Plant OJSC specialises in the production of dry milk products, butter, whole milk products, ice cream, and other products. The Lepel branch of Vitebskagropromproduct CJSC specialises in the production of complete feed for farm animals.

The Lepel Bakery branch of Vitebskhlebprom OJSC produces over 35 types of bakery products and 20 types of confectionery, which fully meets the needs of the town and rural residents. The enterprise is constantly working to expand the range and improve the quality of its products.

Lepel Repair and Mechanical Plant OJSC produces units and parts for agricultural machinery, and gears, which are supplied under cooperation to the parent enterprise, Minsk Gear Plant OJSC, for further processing and sale. The enterprise also produces consumer goods (products from the woodworking section – beds, chairs; products from the laminated chipboard furniture section – tables, wardrobes). Borovka Communal Unitary Production Enterprise ensures the production and distribution of electricity, steam, and hot water.

Yedinaya Torgovaya Sistema-Sintez LLC is actively developing. The enterprise is engaged in research and development in the field of small-volume chemistry. The main products manufactured are sodium metasilicate nonahydrate and a complex of materials for underground hydraulic structures.

Trade services for the population are provided by the Lepel branch of the Vitebsk Regional Consumer Society and a number of other entities, including trade facilities of republican network representatives. Services are rendered through trade outlets of various formats, markets, mobile shops, and online stores.

There are two markets and one shopping centre operating in the district.

One of the important areas of development for the district, considering its geographical location, is the development of roadside services. Currently, there are 9 roadside service facilities located along the district's roads.

Public catering services are provided by both the Lepel branch of the Vitebsk Regional Consumer Society and other business entities, including private businesses.

The district's agro-industrial complex is represented by 8 organisations and a broiler chicken growing workshop "Lepel" of SOOO "Vitkonprodukt". The main focus of agricultural production is dairy and meat livestock farming with developed production of grain, leguminous, and cruciferous crops.

Forestry in the district is served by 1 organisation – Lepel Forestry.

The construction complex consists of 3 organisations, with the leading role belonging to the state enterprise "Lepel PMK-75".

A developed social infrastructure is available (hospitals, schools, kindergartens, nursing care homes, sports and recreational facilities).

Comfortable conditions for business development have been created in the district. To support the business climate and foster entrepreneurship, there is an opportunity to transfer over 6 thousand square metres of unused building and structure space for the implementation of investment projects, lease or sale, as well as a number of land plots with developed infrastructure.
