Warm tents have been set up for residents and guests of the city, a bonfire has been lit, a field kitchen is operating, and all services are on duty. The vocal group "Campanella" traditionally provides the musical accompaniment for the celebration.

This was preceded by the Divine Liturgy and the rite of the Great Blessing of Water in Orthodox churches. For many years now, an organized immersion in the baptismal font has been held in our district. This year was no exception. There were many residents of Lepel who wished to immerse themselves in the font.

It is generally believed that the Epiphany baptismal font possesses healing properties on this day. Immersion in blessed water tempers the body and strengthens a person's willpower.

A pleasant surprise on this frosty day was hot tea with refreshments.

The blessing of water also took place at the sports and recreation centre with a swimming pool. The Dean of the Lepel District, Sergiy Leshkevich, read a prayer, sprinkled the residents of Lepel with Epiphany water, and also presented the centre's administration with an icon of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker as a gift.
