Meteorological observations in Belarus date back to 1924. The collection of necessary information for weather forecasting is carried out daily. Observations include cloudiness (if present, its type and amount are determined), visibility, wind (direction, average and maximum speed), soil and air temperature, current pressure and its trend.

The summary is compiled every three hours. All data obtained during the research is sent to the hydrometeorological centre.

In our district, the "Lepel" meteorological station has been managed for many years by Tatyana Kolosovskaya. Working alongside Tatyana Olegovna is Tatyana Demyanchenko, an engineer-agrometeorologist of the 2nd category.

The meteorological station is equipped with an automated meteorological station with a set of sensors, which immediately transmits information to a computer. Just a few decades ago, information was transmitted via communication channels.
