On January 28, 2022, the State Automobile Inspectorate of the Vitebsk region is holding a Unified Road Safety Day under the slogan: "Together - for road safety!" (Promoting compliance with traffic rules by all road users)
Dear motorists! Do not forget about increased safety measures on the unpredictable winter road, choose a safe driving speed taking into account the condition of the roadway, increase the distance and side interval, avoid any sudden movements or maneuvers. Do not forget to fasten your seatbelts. Remember that children under 12 years of age must be transported using child restraint systems. Be extremely careful when passing pedestrian crossings.
Dear pedestrians! You should cross the roadway only in designated places, making sure that drivers have time to stop (pedestrians should remember that a car on a slippery road sometimes has no technical possibility to stop in time). In the dark, be sure to mark yourself with retroreflective elements.
The Traffic Police reminds: administrative liability is provided for violations of traffic rules by drivers and pedestrians. For violating the rules of passing a pedestrian crossing, a driver faces a fine of 1 to 5 basic units. Repeat violation of this rule within a year is subject to penalties.
For failure to use a child restraint system when it is mandatory, a fine of up to 4 basic units is provided. In case of a repeated violation within a year, a fine of 2 to 8 basic units is imposed.
For violation of the Traffic Rules regarding the use of retroreflective elements, a pedestrian is brought to administrative responsibility in the form of a fine, which amounts to 1 to 3 basic units. The same actions committed by a drunk pedestrian entail a fine of 3 to 5 basic units.
Be attentive and mutually polite on the roads!
