On May 28, 2021, the State Automobile Inspectorate of the Vitebsk Region will hold a Unified Road Safety Day under the slogan: "Let's Save Our Future!" (prevention of child road traffic injuries).

As of the current period in 2021, 13 road traffic accidents involving children have occurred in the Vitebsk region, resulting in 4 fatalities and 10 injuries to minors.

Compared to the same period last year, there has been a 400% increase in the number of fatalities.

 The State Automobile Inspectorate reminds that in accordance with   clause 166.9 of the Traffic Regulations, during the period of republican special comprehensive measures to ensure road traffic safety conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, vehicles are required to move during daylight hours with dipped headlights or daytime running lights switched on.         

Liability for violations of the above-mentioned clause of the Traffic Regulations is provided for by Article 18.13, Part 3 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Belarus and entails a penalty in the form of a fine of up to 87 Belarusian rubles (3 base units).
