On May 30, the Vitebsk region, like the entire Republic of Belarus, will host a Unified Road Safety Day dedicated to the prevention of child road traffic injuries under the slogan "The road has no holidays!"

Objective of the event:

To enhance child road safety in anticipation of the summer holidays.
To prevent child road traffic injuries.
To reinforce knowledge of traffic rules among children and their parents.

Expected activities:

Inspection activities to monitor compliance with traffic rules.
Conducting explanatory talks with children and parents on road safety rules.
Presenting information on the safe use of personal mobility devices and bicycles.

Additional information:

Movement on personal mobility devices and bicycles across pedestrian crossings is permitted only at walking speed.
Crossing the road should only be done at pedestrian crossings or along the line of pavements or verges, without obstructing pedestrians.
Cyclists may cross the carriageway without dismounting.
One should only walk on a green traffic light signal.
