The victim was taken to intensive care with severe injuries, where she died some time later. In the evening of October 18, in Novopolotsk, a driver born in 1979, who was driving a "BMW", hit a 71-year-old woman near house 11 on Molodezhnaya Street. The pedestrian was intoxicated and was crossing the road not at a designated place. In Liozno on October 20, around 8 p.m., a 36-year-old driver of a "Volkswagen Golf" hit a 12-year-old child. The girl was running across the roadway outside of a pedestrian crossing. The schoolgirl's clothing did not have any reflective elements. Before entering the roadway, pedestrians must be attentive, look around, and ensure there are no vehicles. Drivers, in turn, are obliged to reduce speed near pedestrian crossings. Roads should be crossed at pedestrian crossings. In their absence, the roadway can be crossed at intersections along the line of sidewalks or shoulders. In places where traffic is regulated, it is necessary to follow the signals of the traffic controller or the pedestrian or vehicle traffic light to cross the roadway. At unregulated pedestrian crossings, one can enter the roadway after ensuring that the crossing will be safe. In turn, drivers are obliged, when approaching pedestrian crossings, to move at a speed that will allow them to stop to let pedestrians pass. The speed of vehicles, according to the Traffic Regulations, in a populated area is 60 km/h, unless otherwise established by traffic control devices on certain road sections.
