As part of the New Year's charity campaign "Our Children", 42 couples, comprising the best students from higher education institutions of the region, cadets from Vitebsk and Polotsk Cadet Schools, Vitebsk State College of Culture and Arts, and Vitebsk State Musical College named after I. Solertinsky, twirled to the rhythms of the Polonaise, Waltz, and Midnight Quadrille at the regional New Year's Ball held at the Vitebsk Concert Hall.

This year, the overall concept of the ball is united by the theme "Northern Lights", which harmoniously combines motifs of Vitebsk region's landmarks and the achievements of its youth. Boutonnieres, crafted by the Vitebsk State Industrial-Technological College, served as a beautiful addition to the incredible ensembles.

Ded Moroz (Grandfather Frost) and Snegurochka (Snow Maiden) created the festive New Year's atmosphere. The fairytale characters prepared a host of exciting entertainment and gifts for the young attendees.

Following a cherished tradition, the region's leadership came to congratulate the young men and women on the holiday.

Dmitry Demidov, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies, congratulated those present on the upcoming holidays and noted that such events are an important part of shaping cultural traditions and supporting talented youth in the region.

— Looking at you fills the soul and heart with the warmest and brightest emotions, as it is precisely you, talented and diligent, who have been honoured to participate in the regional ball. We are proud of you and are delighted that through your creative potential, you convey your love for the Motherland. I wish you to achieve your goals in the New Year, not to rest on your laurels, and to continue to delight us with your successes, — emphasised Dmitry Demidov.

Alexandra Kurzova, a student of Vitebsk State University named after P.M. Masherov, is participating in the New Year's Ball for the first time. For the young woman, this day has been exciting and will be remembered for a lifetime.

— For me, the New Year's Ball is a time machine. It feels like stepping into another era – one of grace and elegance. It's an aesthetic pleasure to enjoy live music, perform beloved dance routines, and anticipate a New Year's miracle. I started preparing for the ball in October. Numerous rehearsals, choosing a dress, selecting accessories – all of it was part of an engaging process of immersing myself in the festive atmosphere. I eagerly awaited the moment I could step out in my radiant image. This truly magical evening brought a wealth of positive emotions and brought back warm memories of my school years, when I myself performed classical dance routines on stage. The regional New Year's Ball is an opportunity to touch history, to feel part of something special and enchanting that happens only once. I am grateful to the rector, the university administration, and, of course, my faculty for the opportunity to participate in such a large-scale and significant event, – shared Alexandra Kurzova.

Daria Skuman, a student of VSAVM, is participating in the regional New Year's Ball for the first time. This evening fulfilled a long-held dream of the young woman: to be in a real fairy tale.

— I am delighted to have had the honour of participating in the New Year's Ball. The atmosphere here is simply magical, as if you are transported to another reality where grace and nobility reign. I dreamed of attending such an event, and today this dream has come true. I feel like a real princess. I thank my parents for always supporting me. Their faith guided me towards achieving my goals, and today one of them has been accomplished. Special thanks to the organisers for a wonderful evening, – shared Daria Skuman.

The event concluded with the exchange of gifts and a festive fireworks display.
