A magnificent five – this is the number of gifted schoolchildren from the Vitebsk region who have distinguished themselves in creative activities and social life and have been awarded the annual prize of the regional branch of the Belarusian Children's Fund.
According to the director of the branch, Olga Obukhova, the prize is being awarded for the second year, and it is not easy to become its recipient. Each winner will receive 300 rubles.
– The children eagerly await the prize, as it is an opportunity for them to receive money for the results of their achievements, – noted Olga Obukhova. – It is also noteworthy that we are looking for children who have distinguished themselves not so much in academic pursuits as in creative and social activities.
This year, 18 students from 10 settlements in the Vitebsk region applied for the prize. The best of the best were selected based on the results. What is remarkable about the five winners?
Yana Mikhailova is an excellent student at Secondary School No. 3 in Vitebsk. She attends the exemplary children's art studio "Little Wizards" at the regional palace of children and youth. The girl is noted for her outstanding abilities; her original, emotionally charged drawings and picturesque compositions have received high praise at various levels of competitions, as well as at international festivals. Over the past academic year, Yana's collection of awards has been enriched with ten diplomas.
Konstantin Naumchik, a third-grader at Pushkin Gymnasium No. 3 in Vitebsk, repeatedly conquers the hearts of juries with his masterful piano playing. This talented eight-year-old child received seven diplomas during the past academic year.
Daria Vasekha, a soloist of the vocal studio "Izuminka" at Novopolotsk Gymnasium No. 1 and an excellent student, became a laureate of ten international competitions and festivals over the past academic year. The seventh-grader carefully plans each of her performances, which undoubtedly leads to high results. The girl is also learning to play the piano at the children's art school at the Novopolotsk Music College.
Ksenia Yankovskaya, a gymnasium student from the town of Baran, studies at the exemplary poetry school "Lotos" at the Orsha Regional Centre for Children and Youth Creativity. The young talent's poems are often published in regional and national media, and her interesting and insightful essays have earned her numerous well-deserved awards.
Elizaveta Klavovich, a graduate of Lepel Secondary School No. 1, is a student of the exemplary theatre group "Triada" at the Lepel District Centre for Children and Youth. She has repeatedly won recitation contests of various levels.
