From August 9 to 12, the State Automobile Inspectorate of Belarus will conduct a preventive event titled "Drunk and Unlicensed Drivers Have No Place on the Road!"

  The preventive event "Drunk and unlicensed drivers have no place on the road!" is aimed at preventing and promptly suppressing instances of drunk driving and driving without a license.

  Traffic police patrols will conduct targeted checks on roads and streets, paying attention to retail outlets and establishments operating 24/7. If you have reliable information or suspicions about attempts at drunk driving, please report it by calling 102.

  The State Automobile Inspectorate reminds you! Fines up to 200 base units! If the driver's exhaled air contains up to 0.8 per mille of alcohol, the driver faces a fine of 100 base units and a three-year driving ban. If it exceeds 0.8 per mille or the driver refuses a medical examination – the fine will be 200 base units and the driver will lose their driving privileges for 5 years! In case of a repeat offense within a year, the driver will be held criminally liable with subsequent confiscation of the vehicle. No driver's license? Furthermore, it is important to know that only possessing a driver's license grants a driver the right to operate vehicles on the roads of the Republic of Belarus. Citizens can obtain the relevant document after completing a course of theoretical and practical driving skills training and successfully passing a qualifying examination at the State Automobile Inspectorate.
