The Healthcare Institution "Lepel Regional Psychiatric Hospital" is a multidisciplinary medical and preventive institution with 170 beds. Patients receive specialized emergency and planned psychiatric, narcological, and psychological medical care. It is a great honor for our district that the activities of the Lepel Regional Psychiatric Hospital are featured in the second issue of the Great International Encyclopedia "The Best People". The Chief Physician of the hospital, Alexander Kopytov, has been awarded the Order of Honour and Glory of the Hero of the Encyclopedia "The Best People" and a Diploma of the Presidium of the Council of the Great International Encyclopedia in the "Medicine" nomination for high professional skill and dedicated work for the benefit of Belarus.
- The hospital includes admission and diagnostic, psychiatric, narcological, and psychosomatic departments, as well as an intensive care unit. We employ eleven doctors and 53 nurses. All of them are qualified specialists. We would like to specifically mention the anesthesiologist-resuscitator Leonard Gaysyonok and the first-category therapist Tamara Ermolovich. As experienced specialists, they actively share their experience and professional skills with younger colleagues.
In 2008, for highly professional conscientious work and achieved results, the hospital was recognized as the best in the Vitebsk region and awarded a Certificate of Honour.
Each department has enhanced comfort wards with a separate exit, a TV, and a refrigerator. Electric appliances can be used upon request. We offer both single and triple occupancy wards. Excellent repairs have been carried out in the clinical diagnostic laboratory. The laboratory serves not only the hospital's patients. Anyone who needs to undergo a series of necessary tests can visit it.
Within the hospital grounds, there was an old building scheduled for demolition. Funds generated from paid services were used for its modernization. The beautifully refurbished premises now house the physical therapy office and the hydrotherapy department. Excellent conditions have been created for visitors. Patients can choose from a thermal couch capable of heating up to 70 degrees Celsius, a massage chair, and new equipment for other physical therapy procedures. The physical therapy office offers intravenous laser therapy, used for addiction treatment, and manual massage. A sauna, equipped according to all European standards, is available for relaxation and health improvement during leisure time. The therapeutic baths utilize over 200 types of aromatic oils. Adjacent to this is a shower cubicle, offering optional cold water drenching, and a restroom.
Incidentally, the reconstruction and repair of buildings are carried out by the hospital's own construction team.
The operating hours of the physical therapy office and hydrotherapy department are designed for client convenience. The staff of the physical therapy office and hydrotherapy department are experienced, dedicated specialists skilled in working with people.
The improvement of the material and technical base is ongoing. The hydrotherapy department plans to install hydromassage baths. Necessary repairs have been completed, and new equipment has been acquired for the laundry.
Another old building has been modernized using funds from paid services. Over four months, a major renovation was carried out, and new equipment was purchased. A buffet has now been opened here. This is very convenient for both medical staff and patients, and visitors. Starting from September 1st of this year, hot lunches will be offered at the buffet for clients to choose from.
A number of factors contribute to the preservation and strengthening of citizens' mental health. Our patients should feel comfortable in any season. In the near future, we plan to install an illuminated fountain on the hospital grounds, along with benches. Paving slabs will be laid, and lush flowerbeds will be created.
Within the framework of the scientific research program "Modern Technologies in Medicine" for 2006-2010, aimed at supporting the activities of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, we initiated the research work "Aspects of Early Alcoholism: Genetic, Clinical-Biological, and Psycho-Social Prerequisites for the Development of Alcoholism in Adolescents and Youth." The scientific research is actively used in the practice of hospital doctors. During treatment, we analyze in detail what could have caused alcoholism, which factors triggered the addiction, etc.
Young specialists undergo internships at our hospital. For instance, two doctors completed their internships here and are currently working with us, and another one is undergoing an internship now.
The hospital is designed to serve the population of eight districts, specifically 216,200 citizens. The total number of hospital employees is 186. On average, 2,600 people undergo treatment here annually.
80 percent of our specialists hold specific qualifications, which is an important indicator of performance.
A person's mental health is a very important part of their life and well-being. Our work is to help people overcome and find solutions to difficult life situations. There is nothing more valuable in life than the feeling of complete physical and mental well-being. And we are doing everything possible in this direction.
