A field meeting of the Presidium of the Lepel District Council of Deputies was dedicated to the topic "Organisation of work with gifted pupils in the educational institutions of the district". For a broad and thorough discussion of this topic, the participants of the meeting gathered at the I. Yerashov Gymnasium.
Speaking to the participants of the meeting, the Head of the Education Department of the District Executive Committee, Valery Bykov, noted that a system of work with gifted children has been established in the department and in the educational institutions of the district.
This work began with the complex target program "Gifted Children", which was developed in 2000 and is based on the principle of continuity: kindergarten, primary school, secondary school. The program was developed with the aim of creating conditions for the development and education of children with diverse abilities. Within the framework of the program, a database has been created, and school and district events such as "Teacher of the Year", the festival "Hello, World!", "Sunny Circle", district rallies of excellent students and Olympiad winners, exhibitions of decorative and applied arts "City of Masters", and others are held.
