3 August, Vitebsk /Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. Agricultural producers of the Vitebsk region will receive additional support amounting to over Br200 billion. This decision was made today at the extraordinary 22nd session of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
As reported to the deputies by Inna Yushchenko, Deputy Head of the Financial Department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, the region's budget for the current year is being executed dynamically and is without deficit, adhering to the principle of rational use of budget funds.
Additional revenues to the budget were received thanks to the effective performance of the industrial complex and the growth of the population's income. Thus, approximately Br100 billion in additional revenues were obtained from personal income tax, profit taxes, value-added tax, and interest on deposits. Another Br15 billion was received from sponsors.
The harvesting campaign and preparation for winter sowing have made the issues of agricultural machinery repair, acquisition of fuel and lubricants, as well as the accumulation of mineral fertilizers for the upcoming winter sowing, topical. In this regard, agricultural producers require budget support, emphasized Inna Yushchenko. Funds amounting to Br15 billion will be allocated for the purchase of biodiesel fuel, Br20 billion for the repair of agricultural machinery, and Br200 billion for mineral fertilizers.
The additional allocation of funds to agricultural producers from the budget will help avoid attracting foreign credit resources. According to financial experts' forecasts, the redistribution of regional budget funds will not negatively affect the fulfillment of social obligations.
Deputies of the Regional Council agreed with the need to clarify certain indicators of the regional budget.
