August 22, Tolochin District / Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Kosinets has instructed the region's grain growers to complete the grain harvest within a week, reports a BELTA correspondent. As of August 22, 73% of the grain crops in the region have been harvested, with 1 million 136 thousand tons of grain threshed. "On a five-point scale, I would give the harvest a two," the governor assessed the farmers' performance. He criticized the organization of work in the fields, drew attention to the slow pace of work, low labor productivity, and declining yields. The Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, having visited the fields, noted high losses. "From five to ten centners are lost in some fields. This is unacceptable," he stated. Alexander Kosinets demanded that farm managers tighten discipline, create conditions for normal and safe work for the grain growers, and complete the harvest within a week. -0-
