He stated this today to journalists during a visit to the republican unitary production and trade enterprise "Orsha Flax Mill", a BELTA correspondent reports. "It is high time to create a holding," the governor believes. It should include, along with the mill, all 10 flax processing plants in the region, the Vitebsk State Technological University, and a specialized seed station. "The essence of the holding is from field to counter. This will enable the holding participants to be profitable and generate high profits," Aleksandr Kosinets is confident. Unfortunately, today the region's flax processing plants have negative profitability, as due to the lack of modern equipment, they produce a final product of low quality. Aleksandr Kosinets noted the paradoxical situation in the industry: the flax mill has updated its production base, while the flax processing plants, due to the lack of modernization, cannot provide it with quality raw materials. In this regard, he considers it necessary to carry out the technical re-equipment of the existing flax processing plants within 2012-2013. In the opinion of the chairman of the regional executive committee, the Orsha Flax Mill should be interested in investing funds in modernization, including that of the region's flax processing plants.-0-
