This point of view was expressed to a BELTA correspondent by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Kosinets, when assessing the outgoing year. Vitebsk region is successfully completing 2012. The region leads in many indicators of socio-economic development: gross regional product, renewal of fixed assets, innovative development, export-import relations excluding oil and oil products. The region as a whole has solved the tasks that were defined by the socio-economic development plan for the year, the governor stated. The Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee did not hide that it became possible to achieve the set goals thanks to the diligence of the region's residents, stability in society, and the trust that society places in the authorities. "People support the authorities and understand that not all problems can be solved immediately. There are shortcomings, but people know that the authorities are in control of the situation and are doing everything possible for the region to develop dynamically and become more beautiful every year," he said. According to the Economics Committee of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, based on the results of 2012, the growth rate of gross regional product in Vitebsk region is expected to be 112% compared to 2011, the growth rate of industrial production volumes by physical volume index will be at least 115%, the share of shipped innovative products will reach 30%, and sales profitability is projected at 10%. The growth rate of goods exports as a whole for the territory is expected to be 170%, and the foreign trade balance, excluding oil and oil products and republican organizations, is positive at $1.5 billion.-0-
