Summer holidays are a period during which rescuers work most closely with children, as children are often left without adult supervision. This is due to parents working, and children mostly spending time alone or with peers. Therefore, in addition to rest and adventures, various dangers may await them. It is the responsibility of adults not to let tragic events overshadow the summer holidays. Rescuers will be helping with this throughout the summer months.
Thus, since the start of the operation of school camps, rescuers have already visited Secondary School No. 3 in Lepel, and the schools in Stai, Domzheritsy, Zaslonovo, and Starolyadno in Lepel District.
The children welcomed the rescuers with great enthusiasm. And why not – after all, everyone had the opportunity to feel like a real rescuer. The children tried on fire-fighting gear, breathed using compressed air apparatus, sat behind the wheel of a fire truck, and, of course, experienced a "safe" rain!
To once again remind the children of the basic safety rules during the summer holidays, rescuers shared their knowledge and useful information with them on how to behave in emergency situations, near water bodies, whom to report emergencies to, and what to do to minimise such situations. The children gladly participated in various games, actively engaged in dialogue, and shared their knowledge of life safety acquired during the academic year with the rescuers.
Rescuers urge parents, grandparents, and older siblings to join in safety education. Discuss the dangers and responsibilities that thoughtless games can lead to. Pay attention to topics such as water safety, sand quarries, and playing with matches. Do not let children near windows and balconies. Remember that dangers are posed not only by water bodies but also by wells, bathtubs, buckets of water, and decorative ponds. Teach children how to properly
act in case of emergencies. Do not leave young children unattended under any circumstances.
