The "Belarus Remembers. We Remember Everyone" campaign, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the republic from the Nazi invaders, is continuing across the country, BelTA reports.
The campaign is taking place in Belarus as a tribute to the feats and destinies of those who contributed to the liberation of the country and the Great Victory. Representatives of the Ministry of Defence, led by Minister Andrei Ravkov, joined the campaign by laying flowers at the Eternal Flame on Victory Square in Minsk.
The Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee, Anatoly Sivak, also came to the Eternal Flame today to honour the memory of those who fell during the Great Patriotic War.
Belarusian border guards also took part in the festive events. In Minsk, the leadership of the State Border Committee and servicemen of the Minsk garrison honoured the memory of the liberator soldiers who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of Belarus. The event took place at the military burial site on Tolbukhin Boulevard, at the memorial sign to the soldiers who died on July 3, 1944, during the liberation of Minsk. Border guards also laid flowers at the memorial plaque to Hero of the Soviet Union Andrei Kizhevatov, head of a border post and participant in the defence of the Brest Fortress, who heroically died in June 1941, at the "Kurgan of Glory" memorial complex, as well as at the burial sites of the liberator soldiers of Belarus.
Anyone can join the "Belarus Remembers. We Remember Everyone" campaign. Ceremonial flower-laying ceremonies are being held throughout the country.
