The main goal of the voluntary campaign is to draw attention to the need for careful attitude towards the country's main natural resource – the forest.
"Organizations of the Ministry of Forestry system annually direct significant resources and efforts to put things in order in the forest fund. At the same time, the problem of unauthorized dumps of construction and household waste, foreign objects in forests adjacent to roads and railways, around settlements, gardening associations and dacha cooperatives, at rest areas and parking lots remains relevant. In this regard, the ministry calls on all concerned residents of our country to join forces and contribute to putting things in order – to improve the forest fund territory adjacent to their settlements," the press service noted.
Anyone can become a participant of the campaign. To do this, it is enough to contact the forestry and declare your desire to help put things in order in the forest. Organizations of the Ministry of Forestry will provide all participants of the event with the necessary equipment.
The "Clean Forest" campaign in Belarus has become a tradition. It was first held in 2010, and since then, tens of thousands of volunteers have participated in it. The event is actively supported by local executive authorities, state, public and commercial organizations, schools, higher education institutions and other institutions of the country.
Last year, the "Clean Forest" campaign was supported by over 35,000 participants. Residents of the Mogilev region were the most active in joining the event: more than 7.2 thousand people contributed to the preservation of Belarus's green wealth in this region. During the day, volunteers across the country not only cleared the forest of garbage and clutter but also improved recreation areas, prepared dendrological parks for wintering, and engaged in planting forest crops. In 24 hours, almost 2,000 cubic meters of garbage were removed from the forests of Belarus, and hundreds of dumps were eliminated.
