The republican campaign "Clean Water Body" is launching in Belarus, the RGOO "Belarusian Association of Hunters and Fishermen" (BAHF) informed BELTA.

The campaign will run until April 19. It is primarily aimed at the environmental education of all segments of the population, drawing attention to the problem of water body pollution, as well as tidying up the coastal zone of water bodies and watercourses before the start of the season of mass outdoor recreation. "To participate in the campaign, it is sufficient to contact the district organizational structure of the BAHF at your place of residence, where you will be informed about the place and time of its holding, and also provided with everything necessary. You can also independently come to your favourite recreation spots and clean up litter from a section of the shoreline," the BAHF said.

The BAHF has been conducting the "Clean Water Body" campaign since 2014. During this time, BAHF employees, together with representatives of various organisations and other campaign participants, have tidied up over 4,000 km of the shoreline of water bodies and watercourses. More than 30,000 people participated in the campaign, and about 5,000 cubic metres of litter were removed.
