The "Youth for Safety" campaign will launch in Belarus on September 25, the Ministry of Emergency Situations informed BELTA.

The campaign is timed to coincide with the birthday of the Belarusian Youth Public Association of Rescuers-Firefighters (BYPA) and is aimed at promoting the profession and safety knowledge. It will be held over three weeks in 3 stages.

Young rescuers and employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations will visit the homes of large families, Great Patriotic War veterans, lonely elderly people and disabled individuals until September 30 to help with household issues. From October 2 to 6, in social shelters, boarding schools, general education and other institutions, the children will introduce their peers to the organisation, talk about their activities, and representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations will conduct training sessions.

The third stage events will be held by rescuers and their young assistants in places of mass gathering: children's creativity centres, youth palaces, cinemas, assembly halls, culture houses, open spaces, and parks. Everyone will be able to participate in contests and quizzes.

"Working with the younger generation has always been considered one of the priority areas of the Ministry of Emergency Situations' activities. This campaign is another way to remind people that a culture of safety should be fostered from childhood, and thanks to the help of young rescuers, this goal becomes much more achievable," the department noted.
