The Republican action of the Ministry of Emergency Situations "Children in the Spotlight" has started today in Belarus, BELTA was informed by the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The action is timed to coincide with the start of the academic year and will be held in three stages. From August 20 to 31, events will be held in large shopping centers and other retail outlets. Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and young rescuers will talk about the causes of emergencies, distribute memos and brochures, and remind parents that when preparing children for school, they must not forget to teach them safety rules. Shops will feature not entirely ordinary goods: sets of rescuer's combat clothing, fire alarms, and fire extinguishers.
The second stage is planned for September 1-14. It will include preventive talks at school assemblies, class hours, and parent-teacher meetings. Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations will explain how to behave in emergency situations. In addition, planned evacuation drills and thematic safety lessons will be held in educational institutions, and knowledge can be reinforced in numerous competitions and quizzes.
During the third (final) stage, from September 17 to 21, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations will visit preschool institutions. Rescuers will teach children in an interesting and understandable way how to properly call the Ministry of Emergency Situations, show them how to leave a smoky room, and watch the educational cartoon "Magic Book" together with the children. The program also includes theatrical performances on the theme of safety. The main aspects of child safety will be discussed with parents and educators, and all questions of interest will be answered.
The main goal of the action is to draw public attention to the problem of injuries and deaths of children left unattended.
