The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Belarus will hold the republican campaign "For Safety Together" from October 20 to November 20, BELTA was informed by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The aim of the campaign is to improve the safety level with the start of the heating season.
As noted by the press service, more than 65% of fires with fatalities occur during the autumn-winter period. The most common causes are increased load on electrical appliances, unsafe use of stoves and, of course, careless smoking, as well as ignorance or neglect of safety measures, and careless actions.
During the month-long campaign, special attention will be paid to inspecting the fire safety of homes of single and lonely elderly citizens, disabled people, and families with children in socially dangerous situations.
