On January 23, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Eleven state-owned enterprises in the Vitebsk region were transformed into joint-stock companies in 2011, Mikhail Pavlyuchkov, Director of the Vitebsk Regional Territorial Fund of State Property "Vitebskoblimushchestvo", informed a BELTA correspondent.
Eight enterprises of republican ownership, one of regional communal ownership, and two of administrative-territorial units underwent transformation through corporatisation. Open joint-stock companies included "NovopolotskZhelezobeton", "Orshansky Opytny Mekhanichesky Zavod "Metalist", and "Vitrembyt". According to Mikhail Pavlyuchkov, the corporatisation of state-owned enterprises will enable them to develop more intensively and attract external investment resources.
At auctions held in 2011, shares of OJSC "Vitebskles" and "Vikko" were sold for Br17.9 billion. Russian investor LLC "Valdis" acquired a state-owned block of shares in OJSC "Lepelpromshveimebel" for over Br3 billion. Blocks of shares in OJSC "Orshansky Avioremontny Zavod" were also sold to investors in accordance with the Decree of the President of Belarus No. 335rp dated December 30, 2011.
In 2012, it is planned to transform 20 enterprises of communal ownership and three of republican ownership into OJSCs in the region. In addition, 640 unused buildings and structures will be put into economic circulation. -0-
