As part of the large-scale campaign "Safe Holidays," employees of the Lepel District Department for Emergency Situations, together with a representative of the district organisation of the water rescue society, visited the "Borovka" children's health camp to remind young holidaymakers of the importance of observing safety rules during the summer period.
At the meeting with the children, the Ministry of Emergency Situations employees focused on the possible causes of fires, both at home and in nature. Rescuers explained in detail the correct actions in case of danger, clarified the importance of reacting promptly and reporting the incident to the rescue service, and also reminded them of the telephone numbers that every child should know.
In addition, as part of the visit, the water rescue representative conducted a training session on swimming and safe behaviour on the water. Children were explained how to behave on the beach and near water, what dangers might lie in wait, and were also taught water rescue techniques.
– "Safe Holidays" is not just a campaign, but an important part of preventive work aimed at reducing the risk of emergencies involving children, – noted a representative of the district department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. – Our task is to teach children to foresee dangers, react to them correctly, and be able to help themselves and others.
The children actively participated in the discussions, asked questions, and demonstrated good knowledge in the field of safety. Joint events with rescuers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Voluntary Society for the Rescue of People on Water (OSVOD) were held in a friendly and educational atmosphere, leaving the children with many positive emotions and useful skills.
