The phrase "Strong regions – strong country" is more relevant today than ever. Consolidation of efforts is necessary. This opinion was expressed to journalists before the start of the second meeting of the VII All-Belarusian People's Assembly by a delegate of the APF, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Aleksandr Subbotin, reports sb.by correspondent.

Speaking about the expectations from the upcoming second meeting of the seventh All-Belarusian People's Assembly, Aleksandr Subbotin noted that the main event will be the Address of the President of Belarus, Chairman of the All-Belarusian People's Assembly, Aleksandr Lukashenko, to the Belarusian people and Parliament. The second, equally important point is the adoption of the country's socio-economic development program for the next five-year period:

— Although we have discussed the development program for the next five-year period, formalised and reviewed it, starting from work collectives to the expert community and the Government, it is important to see how it will be further discussed, refined, and adopted. After all, it depends on how our country will develop, how our people will live.

The Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee drew attention to the fact that the socio-economic development program outlines seven priorities that determine the vector of the Belarusian economy's development across three components – comprehensive personal development, improving the quality and standards of life, balanced economic growth, and ensuring environmental safety:

— All directions and priorities of the program, according to the chairman of the regional executive committee, are equally important – from industry and agriculture to tourism. Nothing can be overlooked, otherwise the system will collapse. Strong regions are particularly important: the stronger they are, the more stable the whole country is.
