This was stated by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Aleksandr Subbotin, at a teleconference meeting on this year's harvesting campaign, which took place today at the Palace of Independence. During his report to the Head of State, Aleksandr Subbotin emphasised:
– A total of 1160 combine harvesters are currently actively operating in the region. However, it should be taken into account that up to 60 percent of the combine harvester fleet goes out of order after 10 years of use. Therefore, we have to renew at least a hundred combine harvesters annually. We are closely working on this issue with the Government. In addition, this year we have brought out all the combine harvesters, even those that had not been operational for two or three years, and assembled new ones from their spare parts. Therefore, if there are any falsifications, and this has been voiced more than once at teleconferences, at the level of the Government and regions, then the regional inspectorate and the inspectorate of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food are working in parallel for this purpose. And if the Committee of State Control identifies facts of violations, then investigations will be conducted seriously, and those responsible will be punished.
