Citizenship is formed in people's hearts and is expressed in their attitude towards traditions and values. This opinion was expressed by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Subbotin, at the ceremony of presenting passports to talented schoolchildren and gymnasium students.
The head of the northern region, speaking to the youth, noted the importance of Constitution Day, stating that it is the fundamental document containing the canons of the state's existence. "The Constitution also dynamically changes through referendums, the will of our people. Two years ago, we updated the Constitution," Alexander Subbotin recalled. "And it seemed that things that are self-evident needed to be incorporated into the Basic Law. These include the fact that family is a marriage between a man and a woman, that one must defend the Motherland and take care of one's health."
More than 20 people were invited to the award ceremony. These are some of the best schoolchildren and gymnasium students in the Vitebsk region among their peers. "Despite your young age, you are already outstanding in your respective fields: some in science, some in academics, and some in sports," said Alexander Subbotin. "I would like to wish you to remember this significant day. You have taken another step in becoming a citizen of the Republic of Belarus." "A citizen must love and respect their traditions and honor their ancestors. Of course, they must develop and make their family, their small homeland, and their country better," emphasized the head of the northern region. The Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee wished the young men and women to continue reaching new heights and contribute to the development of the region and the country.
