The Vitebsk region team won 7 gold, 11 silver, and 6 bronze medals at the final stage of the VI Republican Professional Skills Competition ProfSkills Belarus – 2025. The participants from the northern region of the country surpassed all other regions in the number of awards, second only to Minsk.

In a solemn ceremony, the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Subbotin, presented awards to the prize-winners and champions, sincerely thanking them for their achievements.

– Your successes tell the whole country that you are the best in your competencies. You are forging the glory of the Vitebsk region, – he said, emphasizing that behind every success lies not only the hard work of the participants but also the care of those who trained and supported them. – Thank you to the educators, vocational training masters, and managers who ensure the functioning of this system and contribute to such remarkable results.

Dmitry Khoma, Head of the Main Department for Education of the Regional Executive Committee, also noted the significance of the competition, which is held according to international standards.

– It is difficult to overestimate its importance, as it has become a crucial stage in the development of vocational education, – stressed the head of the department.

Dmitry Khoma recalled that just 10 years ago, no one could have imagined that a modern specialist would need to possess multiple competencies.

– Today, we are proud of the progress we have made during this time, – he added. – The work carried out by the Regional Executive Committee and the Main Department for Education, including the optimisation of institutions and the development of the material and technical base, has borne fruit. Our students have shown excellent results, and this year has become a record year for the number of diplomas, which indicates a high level of specialist training.

At the end of the event, college principals were presented with letters of appreciation from the Regional Executive Committee for their invaluable contribution to student training, as teamwork is crucial in achieving such high results.

Ulyana Voitekhovich, a graduate of the Polotsk College of PSU named after P. Masherov:

– I represented the college in the "Music Education" competency. As future teachers, we demonstrated a fragment of a music lesson, rhythmic improvisation with volunteers, choreography, and also engaged in computer arrangement and more at the professional skills competition.

The impressions from the competition were unforgettable: interesting, beautiful, and inspiring. I gained valuable experience that will undoubtedly be useful to me in the future. I eagerly await the start of my career as a music teacher at Secondary School No. 42 in Vitebsk named after D. Raitsau, where I hope to pass on my love for music to the younger generation.

Stanislav Misyura, a graduate of Vitebsk State Technological College:

– I had already participated in a professional skills competition, so I felt much more confident this time. Less anxiety, more focus – I was able to show courage on the site and did not feel fear.

I participated in the "Joinery" competency. The task was to create a chair with a back. The most difficult part was making the curve of the back. It's really not easy – you need to draw precisely and hit the right dimensions so that there are no gaps, – the young man said.

A high result was possible thanks to a love for my work: working with wood is my hobby. I get great satisfaction when drawings turn into finished products. It's really cool!

I plan to continue my education at VSTU to double my knowledge and skills, and I look forward to new opportunities for self-realization in my favourite profession.
