On December 10, Minsk /BelTA correspondent/. Alyona Lanskaya will represent Belarus at "Eurovision-2013" in Sweden. This became known following the national selection round of the international song contest, which took place at the Belteleradiocompany, BelTA reports.
The song "Rhythm of Love" by Alyona Lanskaya is authored by Leonid Shirin and Yuri Vashchuk (music) and Alexey Shirin (lyrics). The song was recorded in London. The show ballet Trend Deluxe, whose participants starred in the music video for her song "Lonely Hearts," is involved in Alyona's performance.
As a special award, Alyona received a stylized Eurovision heart. The prize was commissioned by the Belteleradiocompany and made by the "Neman" glass factory.
The winner of the selection was determined by the traditional formula according to the rules of the "Eurovision" contest – based on the results of viewer voting and jury assessments. The professional jury of the national selection round was headed by the Chairman of the Belteleradiocompany, Gennady Davydko. The judging panel included cultural and art figures, composers, musicians, producers, representatives of the television and radio industry, and journalists.
Honored Artist of Belarus Alyona Lanskaya was born on September 7, 1985, in Mogilev. She is a laureate of the music contests "Sarandev-2008" (Bulgaria) and "Cup of Europe-2009" (Russia); winner of the International Contest of Young Performers of Popular Music "Atlantic Breeze-2010"; laureate of the contest of young musicians "Maladyya Talenty Belarusi" (First National Channel of Belarusian Radio); laureate of the I degree of the contest of young performers of youth songs of the V International Festival "Youth for the Union State" (Russia). In July 2011, at the contest of young performers of pop songs "Vitebsk-2011," held during the "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" international arts festival, Alyona won the Grand Prix. The performer graduated from the Mogilev Financial and Economic Vocational-Technical College with a degree in "Banking," as well as the Mogilev Belarusian-Russian University, where she majored in "Finance and Credit."
In the summer of 2012, under the guidance of renowned producer Simon Bass, songs for the singer's new English-language album were recorded at a UK studio. The album features 14 songs, with 11 of them written specifically for Alena by well-known European composers - James Yip (UK), Mark Palink (Belgium), Bernard Ler (Sweden). Three more compositions were written by Belarusian composer Leonid Shirin, and were personally selected by Simon Bass for inclusion in the album, deemed equal in level and quality to the European hits. The headquarters of the team working on the album was located in Sweden. The creative base was the studio of Benny Andersson himself, ex-vocalist and keyboardist of the legendary group ABBA.
In total, over 80 performers and musical groups wished to represent Belarus at "Eurovision-2013". In the final of the national selection this year, 10 professional musicians competed, including Max Lawrence ("I love your charming eyes"), Alexey Gross ("One way love"), Daria ("Catch me again"), the group Nuteki ("Save me"), Satsura ("Get out of my way"), Uzari ("Secret"), Yanakey ("Letter to mother"), Vitaly Voronko ("I wonder how you"), "Beaver Band" ("Incredible girl").
The international song contest "Eurovision-2013" will be held in May in the Swedish city of Malmö.
