GOSPROMNAZOR RECOMMENDS:
algorithm for a lift owner on the procedure for suspending its use (storage during operation)
Temporary suspension of the use (storage during operation) of a lift, not related to emergency repair work, for a period exceeding 24 hours, shall be formalised by a management act of the owner.
When suspending the use of a lift, the owner must take a number of measures aimed at its safe storage:
post warning signs on the shaft doors, landing floors (platforms) indicating that the lift is out of order;
take actions aimed at restricting the possibility of unauthorised persons entering the shaft, pit, machine room, block room, and other premises related to the lift;
ensure electrical safety for users, qualified personnel, and other persons when they interact with the lift control devices and/or touch lift structures that may be energised (disconnect the lift's main switch and post a sign stating "Lift disconnected, in storage");
appoint, by a management act of the lift owner, a person responsible for the storage of the lift during its operation, for the period of suspension of use.
For a lift suspended for more than 15 days, it is necessary to establish the timelines and procedure for monitoring the condition of the lift and the implementation of the specified measures during the storage period.
If it is necessary to resume the operation of the lift, work on preparation for use in accordance with the operational documents must be carried out beforehand.
