Allees in honour of the 130th anniversary of the birth of Belarusian classics Yakub Kolas and Yanka Kupala will be established in the Vitebsk region, BELTA was informed by the Vitebsk Regional Production Forestry Association. The establishment of memorial allees will take place during the republican campaign "Forest Week-2012", which runs from April 21 to 28. One of them will appear in the Kopysky forestry of the Orsha forest enterprise, near which the Yanka Kupala Literary Museum is located. In this house, formerly the office of the Kopysky forestry, in the summer of 1935, Yanka Kupala lived for some time with the forester Shimansky's family while the famous writer's dacha was being built. The second allee will be established in the Tolochinsky forestry of the Tolochinsky forest enterprise, on the territory of which the village of Sani is located, associated with the name of Yakub Kolas: in his youth, he taught here at a private school. In addition, in the Vitebsk forest enterprise, it is planned to establish a memorial allee in honour of the Great Patriotic War veteran Viktor Iosifovich Kozitsky, who worked here as the chief forester for over 20 years. During Forest Week, a number of other events are planned in the region's forest enterprises. For example, on the territory of forest enterprises and forestries, with the participation of youth, the public, and employees of various organizations that have expressed a desire to participate in the campaign, coniferous and deciduous trees will be planted. Forest enterprise employees will improve the territory of water protection zones, children's camps, and medical and preventive institutions, clear forest belts of debris, and tidy up roadside recreation areas. At the same time, the busy working days will be accompanied by vibrant cultural and sports events. Everyone is invited to participate in the campaign. Every resident of the region will have the opportunity to plant their own tree. Work collectives of enterprises, organizations, and institutions can establish allees during these days, the association added. -0-
