21 September, Lepel /Own. inf./. Secondary School No. 2, after receiving the prestigious status of a gymnasium, established its own scientific society – "Almaz" (Diamond), which includes teachers and students. Previously, high school and middle school students were involved in research work, and since last year, primary school students have also joined.

The effectiveness of the society's activities is confirmed by awards. In the 2011-2012 academic year, gymnasium students won nine prizes at the district level, six at the regional level, and two at the international level in research paper competitions. Under the guidance of teachers Olga Borodulina, Alla Mikhailova, and Irina Lisovskaya, the best projects were created. For example, Nikita Leyko, while developing a topic for the "Eureka" scientific and practical conference, used numerous original documents from his family archive. Four tenth-graders presented their work "The Use of Alternative Energy Sources in the City of Lepel" at the regional research project review.

By achieving high results now, young researchers can become highly qualified specialists in their chosen field of activity in the future.
