23 December, Minsk /BELTA/. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko promises to toughen the policy towards the management of construction organizations from January 1, 2012. The Head of State announced this today at a press conference for representatives of Belarusian and foreign media, as reported by a BELTA correspondent. "From the new year, we will toughen the policy towards the management of construction organizations," said the Head of State. "I promise: we will arrange things here in such a way that every manager and specialist will seek contract work for their team." The times when one could "sit and wait for someone to come and ask you to build something" are over. "The heads of construction organizations have become so brazen that they have stopped engaging with their work collectives and simply looking for work for them. They have started behaving freely, to put it mildly, they have stopped making an effort," the President noted. "They say that less housing is being built (we will gradually increase it, of course). But we have a huge number of investment projects, including in Minsk and other cities. Therefore, trusts, organizations, etc. need to work more actively." And to prevent the outflow of personnel abroad (including construction workers), conditions should be created for working at home – then people will not leave the country. The President is not inclined to absolutize this problem and does not consider the departure of specialists to neighboring countries a mass phenomenon. He advises people to weigh the "pros" and "cons" when deciding to work abroad, including analyzing whether it is worth taking the risk. -0-
