On May 11, Minsk /Tatyana Polezhay - BELTA/. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko will make a working trip to the Vitebsk region today. The Head of State will visit the settlement of Khimy in the Orsha district, as well as OJSC "Orsha Aircraft Repair Plant". This was reported to BELTA by the press service of the Belarusian leader. The population of Khimy is only 10 people, all of whom are pensioners. In 2011-2025, it is planned to revive this settlement as an agro-industrial complex with agricultural production. A broiler poultry farm, a bottling plant for mineral and drinking water, and a confectionery factory will be built here. The creation of the production and social sphere, and the engineering infrastructure of the settlement is envisaged. The President will also familiarize himself with the state and development prospects of the Orsha Aircraft Repair Plant. It is planned to create the international multimodal logistics center "Orsha" on the basis of the enterprise with the participation of the Hong Kong company SVT Development (Logistik) Limited. The implementation of the project will allow for the effective use of air transport infrastructure and territorial proximity to international transport corridors. The distance from the plant to the border of the Russian Federation is about 50 km. The close location of the enterprise to the major railway hub of Orsha and the international highways Moscow-Brest and St. Petersburg-Odessa allows for the delivery of aviation equipment requiring repair not only by air, but also by rail and road transport. It is assumed that the implementation of the project will partially relieve Moscow's Domodedovo airport. -0-
