On December 14, Vitebsk /BelTA correspondent/. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko will visit Vitebskdrev OJSC during his working trip to the Vitebsk region today. This was reported to BelTA by the press service of the Head of State. Alexander Lukashenko will be informed about the implementation of the investment project for the production of MDF/HDF wood fibre boards at the enterprise and the reasons for not meeting its deadlines. The project implementation began under the State Program for Innovative Development of Belarus for 2007-2010. However, the deadlines were postponed four times, and the commissioning is currently scheduled for June 2013. The project envisages the production of medium and high-density wood fibre boards in the volume of 140 thousand cubic meters per year, as well as laminated flooring in the volume of 2.5 million square meters. During the visit, the production and economic activities and development prospects of the enterprise will also be discussed. In January-October 2012, the net profit from product sales amounted to Br6.4 billion. Sales profitability was 5.9%. Export deliveries of products were carried out to 24 countries. The Head of State will familiarize himself with the progress of the construction of a new workshop and visit the production site of the old Vitebskdrev OJSC enterprise, and will review an exhibition of products manufactured and planned for production at the enterprise. The history of the enterprise dates back to the construction in 1926 and commissioning in 1927 of a plywood factory. Vitebskdrev OJSC includes Beshenkovichi and Gorodok forestry enterprises, the Begomlsky agricultural branch, and 9 production workshops. The enterprise's production activities are based on logging, sawing, woodworking, production of chipboard and fibreboard, joinery and construction products, and synthetic urea-formaldehyde resins. More than 40% of the manufactured products are exported. During the working trip, the President will also be informed about the socio-economic development of the Vitebsk region and the city of Vitebsk. -0-
