21 April, Minsk /BelTA correspondent/. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has demanded that domestic manufacturers work more aggressively in foreign markets. He stated this today in parliament, answering deputies' questions, BelTA reports. "We need to know how to trade," the President emphasized. "We are passively drifting from corner to corner, from fence to fence, but we need to be more aggressive, at least in the Russian way, although they are not far from us, and we have moved away from them, acting more aggressively in these markets. And you will see: we will gain at least a quarter of our prosperity. And I intend to pursue such a policy to capture these 25% that lie on the surface, no matter how difficult it may be for someone - managers, authorities, and so on. Only organization and discipline will help us achieve this." As an example, the President cited MTZ products. "The day before yesterday, Kazakh friends came to me again - complaining about MTZ, saying why can't we get these 200 tractors from the plant," he said. "So figure out why, so that I don't have to." Alexander Lukashenko recalled that he had visited many countries and many enterprises. "There is no democracy in production anywhere," he said. "There is an iron dictatorship of technology. We, unfortunately, are cogs, small cogs in this technological chain, and if a cog fails somewhere - it's the end. That's all the democracy there is." -0-
