4 August, Minsk /BELTA correspondent/. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has demanded that government bodies take all measures to ensure fire safety in the republic. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the press service of the Belarusian leader. "Alexander Lukashenko has demanded that the government, governors, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and other state bodies strengthen control over fire safety in the country, mobilize all available resources for this purpose, and take exhaustive measures to prevent fires and other natural emergencies caused by abnormal temperature conditions," the press service said. The head of state also instructed Prime Minister Sergei Sidorsky to discuss with his Russian counterpart all types of possible assistance that Belarus can and is ready to provide to the Russian Federation in extinguishing forest fires on its territory, as well as in restoring housing lost in fires.
