25 September, Minsk /Vladimir Matveev - BELTA/. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko proposes to elevate cooperation between Belarus and Sberbank of Russia to a new level. Alexander Lukashenko stated this today, meeting with the Chairman of the Board of Sberbank of Russia German Gref, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
"We agreed with you that after a certain period of time we would meet and jointly propose some new cooperation options to reach a higher level of this cooperation," said the head of the Belarusian state.
The President of Belarus emphasized that he is ready to participate in the discussion of these proposals. "If they are acceptable to us, then we will gladly meet halfway with such a giant as Sberbank of Russia," he said. Alexander Lukashenko also noted the fact that Sberbank chose Belarus as the venue for the forum of its subsidiaries. "We are pleased about this. This is, to some extent, a sign of trust in our country," said the head of state.
In turn, German Gref expressed gratitude to the Belarusian side for the active cooperation over the past years. "The plans that we outlined until the end of 2014 and which are fixed in the investment agreement between us and the government of Belarus, practically the entire volume of obligations will be fulfilled by the end of the current year - two years before the end of the term we agreed upon," noted the Chairman of the Board of Sberbank.-0-
