10 August, Kostyukovichi /Alina Grishkevich - BELTA/. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has proposed that China establish the production of reinforced concrete products at the Belarusian Cement Plant. This proposal was voiced today during the Head of State's visit to this enterprise, BELTA correspondent reports.
"By the New Year, there should be a business plan – ours or a joint one with China – for the production of reinforced concrete products," said Alexander Lukashenko. He instructed to carefully calculate everything and, based on the calculations, make final decisions regarding the creation of new production.
"The goal is not just to occupy the site, but to produce products with high added value. New production will spur the development of the city and the region," the President is convinced.
"If reinforced concrete is needed in Europe, why not build it?" emphasized Alexander Lukashenko, speaking with representatives of the Chinese corporation "CITIC," which is involved in the implementation of an investment project at the Belarusian Cement Plant. In particular, with the participation of Chinese investments, a second cement production line has been established here.
Alexander Lukashenko continued: "If you are ready to come here – come. If you need reinforced concrete – produce it. If not, we will do it ourselves," he said. It is assumed that the products of the new production will be exported. This means that the country and the region will receive foreign currency. For the city, this is also relevant in terms of creating new jobs.
During the President's visit to the Belarusian Cement Plant, the expansion of the range of products manufactured at the cement enterprise was also discussed.
